Blade Bait Walleye

During the end of March and all of April, literally millions of walleye converge on the spawning reefs of Lake Erie’s western basin. One of the most unique ways of targeting these fish is with a little known lure called the blade bait. Blades work exceptionally well in the spring time when the water is cold and turbid from spring run off and the unpredictable winds of the Great Lakes. Mark and Jake Romanack of Fishing 411 put on a literal fishing clinic on how to target Erie’s spring walleye using blade baits and Pro Cure Super Gel fishing scents.
